| Hi there! My name is Deb and that's my husband
Mike. I am a soapmaker among other things, but mainly <----get it?
Mainely Soap...I just love to make soap. Mike doesn't make any products
(yet) but he makes all my molds, cutters, soap dishes, and displays and
he totally supports everything I do. He keeps me sane! Tough job, but
someone's got to do it, right?
Mainely Soap is a small family owned business started in 2003 from an
obsession with soapmaking and other bath and body concoctions. The house
began to fill up with huge amounts of soap and creams and balms, and not
enough family and friends to share it all with. That and the fact that
our skin felt so much better and softer and we wanted to help others experience
the same thing. It also helps to earn money for supplies in order to keep
doing what we love. And when I say 'love' I mean it. It makes such a difference
in one's life when you have a passion for what you are doing. Mainely
Soap has made a difference in our lives and we would like to make a difference
in yours.
Located in the beautiful state of Maine, we try to get as many supplies
locally as we can. Lots of dairy farms for our fresh goat milk soaps and
an abundance of land for growing herbs and flowers. It is important to
us that we use the freshest ingredients possible to make our products.
There are situations when it is impossible to locate a local source for
an ingredient. An example would be shea butter. We only purchase our shea
butter from Fair Trade companies. The women in Africa who make the shea
are the ones who get paid for it. There are other exotic oils and butters
that we just can't get locally but we try in every instance possible to
support our local companies first, which means better prices for you because
eliminating shipping charges lowers our cost to produce.
We hope you give our products a try and love them as much as we do. Our
focus will be on our customers and we will do our best to make you happy.
Thank you so much for visiting Mainely Soap!
